The Russian player was high after the match, as shown when he told The Washington Post: "This match we were fighting. When you win easy, it's one thing, but when you win 7-6 in the third against Andy Murray, it's something special for sure."

The Post also noted that since March, Murray's only losses were to Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer, the two players ranked above him.

Murray spoke to Tennis X and admitted his loss. "I normally back myself to return a little bit better than I did," Murray said. "I think in the tie-break I don't think I put one return in the court when he was serving. I feel like I didn't do a good enough job of putting enough first serve points in the court." The site also noted that it was Murray's earliest loss since 2013 in Rome.

Despite the debilitating loss, Murray is probably on a high right now as he received great news. His agent has confirmed that the world no.3 is about to become a dad!

According to Tennis X, Andy Murray and wife Kim Sears were married just last April but they were together since 2005 when they met at the US Open. The baby is expected in February.

With this development, all of the ATP Top 4 (Djokovic, Federer, Murray and Stan Wawrinka) are fathers or expectant fathers.
