Guitarist Lenny Kravitz's wardrobe malfunction on Monday while performing in Sweden as part of his Strut World Tour more than showed the musician's genital. Its unintentional public exposure also revealed a body piercing Kravitz has that few people knew existed.
This is pubic piercing which the guitarist had a few years ago. Elayna Angel, the "lucky woman" who did the procedure on him as well as Kravitz's nipple piercings in the 1990s at her shop named Gauntlet, says the piercing is where "the penis hits the torso at the natural junction where it joins the body," reports Mashable.
She differentiates public piercing from a penis piercing called Prince Albert where the piercing goes inside the genital which gives the man more sensation while engaged in sex. In contrast, in pubic piercing, it hits the woman's clitoris during lovemaking. The hoop about the size of a quarter "hits the lady where she likes it."
In the past few days, because of Kravitz's unintended penis show, Angel's clients as well as other body-piercing shops experienced a surge in customers interested in the procedure but not all of them qualify. Angel explains that the low rate of success makes it necessary for them to first feel the man's pubic area for the divot which should be wide enough to pierce.
Men with dense pubic areas that does not pinch well are not good candidates for piercing, Angel explains. In the case of Kravitz, Angel discloses that the guitarist has the perfect fit for the piercing. She points out, "There's a natural fold if you look at your penis and lift it up you'll find there's a natural groove where the penis hits the torso. It's at the natural junction where penis joins body."
Angel also emphasizes that the piercing takes three to four months to heal. During this period, there should be no bodily fluids exchanged while healing is ongoing which requires water-proof bandage around the area. Men who would undergo the procedure must also clean that anatomical part every day using mild soap.
Unfortunately for Kravitz, he used a harsh soap, called hibiclens, to ensure no infection, but the soap also dried the tissue and the man's penis that he complained to the piercer, "There's an iguana in my pants."
But with a shift to gentler soaps, Kravitz's genital finally healed that when he showed it to the world after his black skin-tight leather pants split into two when he squatted, concert goers admired what they saw and talked about the piercing, reports Mirror.
When he had the first opportunity, Kravitz went backstage and changed to a fresh pair of leather trousers - still commando - and resumed his gig.
