Motorola Company has been consistent in unveiling devices within the smartphone platform to keep up with competition in the industry. Recently, the company launched Moto G (3rd Gen) to succeed last year's Moto G (2nd Gen) - both phones are in the market capturing a considerable share of the market.

According to Christian Today, the differences between the two smartphones in terms of features and specs could help customers make a sound decision on which phone to buy. The Moto G (3rd Gen) has an upper hand because it is an improvement of the Moto G (2nd Gen).

Concerning the size of the screen, both smartphones have the same 5.0-inch IPS LCD screen with 720 × 1280 pixel resolutions. The two Moto G models are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and they sport the same 294 pixels per inch (ppi) density.

The difference comes in when it comes to cameras. The Moto G (2nd Gen) has an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera whereas the Moto G (3rd Gen) has a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera for selfies, which is good news for photo enthusiasts.

The Moto G (3rd Gen) is in many ways better than its precursor, giving enough reason for consumers to upgrade to the newest device on the market. While the Moto G (2nd Gen) comes with a Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 processor, 8GB internal memory, and 1GB RAM, the new Moto G (3rd Gen) has an improvement in all these areas. The Moto G third generation has variants of 16GB and 8GB internal memory models that run on Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 processor and either a 2GB or 1GB RAM, Tech2 unveiled.

Furthermore, the Moto G (3rd Gen) is better that its predecessor concerning battery life. Whereas the Moto G (2nd Gen) is shipped with a non-removable 2070mAh battery, the new Moto G (3rd Gen) a 2470mAh battery. As a result, the battery for the new smartphone can last up to 16 hours when used with LTE connectivity.
