English club Manchester United continues to haggle with FC Barcelona over paying Pedro's buyout clause, which makes the transfer deal stall and is reportedly starting to affect the Spanish winger.
Metro indicated that Barça wants the full £21.4 million payment straight in cash, but the Old Trafford giants would want to have it £17.8 million in cash with the remaining £3.6 million in add-ons.
The deal would have already been completed by now if either of the clubs would give in to each one's demands.
Barça was reportedly "frustrated" that the rich Premier League squad, who had recently sold attacking midfielder Ángel Di María to Ligue 1 champs Paris Saint-Germain for £44 million, would be unwilling to pay the comparatively small amount up front, and thus avoid prolonging the frustration of the 28-year-old Spain international.
Moreover, Luis Enrique was said to be particularly annoyed that Louis van Gaal keeps on bidding huge amounts of money for Bayern Munich's Thomas Müller despite the fact that they have not completed their transaction yet.
Daily Mail Online reported that Enrique expressed his concern over his Spanish forward, who reportedly requested for the transfer to happen because he wanted to play in the first team, something that he was unable to do with Barça's fully-loaded forward lineup of Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., and Luis Suárez.
"It's difficult for him, very difficult," Enrique told reporters after their 1-5 defeat against Athletic Bilbao in the 2015 Supercopa de España. "He always gives everything, but this is not a good situation for him. I just want the transfer market to close so that I can know which players I have and which ones I don't."
