"Dance Moms" may be the most successful and popular reality show in the Lifetime network. Sources, however, claimed that the Abby Lee Miller show is absolutely fake, adding that the competitions were purely made up.
According to Radar Online, the Lifetime executives allegedly created fake competitions to make sure that the ALDC team would always win. They would, however, occasionally let other dancers take the spotlight from time to time so that viewers would not be suspicious.
The insider further revealed that unlike other reality series where the cameramen just followed the stars everywhere they go, each of the scenes were reportedly shot multiple times much like in a scripted TV show.
It was said that they would purposely ask the dancers for multiple takes so they would end up tired and cranky. The source said that the ALDC team were on a 12-hour shooting schedule every day.
When asked about the crowd reactions, the insider revealed that it was all fake, as well. These scenes were reportedly filmed separately from the actual dances. Miller's longstanding feud with Cathy Nesbitt-Stein was also allegedly scripted in an attempt to bring the ratings up.
In an interview with USA Today, Maddie Ziegler admitted that the "Dance Moms" producers would often create situations to make the dancers turn on against each other. The "Chandelier" star said that it was difficult at times to go to work thinking that the day will be full of nonstop crying and drama.
Ziegler also revealed that the moms would sometimes stage a fake fight just to please the producers. One moment they yell at each other only to start talking and laughing the next.
