The CW Network's new TV series titled "Significant Mother" tells the story of how restaurateur Nate Marlowe (Josh Zuckerman) deals with the fact that his mother Lydia (Krista Allen) is now dating his best friend Jimmy (Nathaniel Buzolic). "Significant Mother" cast members Krista Allen and Jonathan Silverman, who portrays Lydia's estranged husband, talk about starring in the comedy series in an interview.
"Days of Our Lives" actress Krista Allen revealed in an interview with Zap2it that she gets along with co-star Josh Zuckerman, who portrays her on-screen son in "Significant Mother." Allen, 44, shared that she and Zuckerman are able to work so well together in the CW TV series because they honored each other's space and then plunged into their characters.
Allen also talked about working with Jonathan Silverman as the director of an episode in "Significant Mother." Allen shared that Silverman wore his acting hat and became "Mr. Director" in "Significant Mother" episode 6 titled "Get Forked."
Allen recounted that Silverman has been supportive and open to the suggestions of the actors as well as the camera men. "It became a wonderful, collaborative effort," Allen told Zap2it.
Meanwhile, Silverman revealed in a ScreenFad interview that the episode he directed will involve his character's son borrowing his fancy sports car. Silverman further added that the fans will continue to see his character, Harrison Marlowe, trying to win Lydia back.
In the pilot episode titled "Welcome to Bonetown," Harrison expressed his interest to reunite with Lydia after finding out that she has moved on from their failed marriage. Silverman believes that Harrison is still in love with his wife and it is an embarrassment that Lydia has to date her son's best friend before Harrison figured out how much he loves her.
In the upcoming episodes, Harrison will be very proactive in his attempts to sabotage Lydia and Jimmy's relationship. Silverman told ScreenFad that Harrison will do "some pretty outlandish things" to make Lydia and Jimmy break up but there will be some moments where his character will realize that Lydia's happiness is more important.
"Significant Mother" airs on Monday nights at 9:30/8:30c on the CW Network.
