Selena Gomez admitted that she ditched her purity ring for ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. The "Good For You" singer opened up about their on-again, off-again relationship, as well as what made her decide to eventually take off the purity ring.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, Gomez admitted that after she started dating Bieber, she decided to remove her purity ring, which symbolizes the decision to remain a virgin until marriage.
Back when she was 13, Gomez shared that she asked her father for a promise ring. The Disney alum shared that her father was so proud of her that he even used her as an example for other kids. She said that her father was extremely proud of her decision to save herself for her future husband.
After meeting the "Baby" singer in 2010, Gomez admitted that she changed her mind. She, however, said that she was not at all embarrassed to admit that she has been intimate with Bieber.
"I didn't think I was doing anything bad by falling in love," she said.
She shared that she respected what the purity ring represents but added that it was not just for everyone.
In spite of the break up, Gomez shared that she still considers Bieber one of his closest friends.
Speaking to German magazine TV Movie, via Sugarscape, Gomez shared that she will always support Bieber, no matter what happens. She added that people have always tried their hardest to turn them against each other but that is never going to happen.
