It seems that the best way for Jolin Tsai to celebrate a recent win in an award’s night is to retreat somewhere far together with an important companion: Vivian Dawson.

Tsai and her model-actor boyfriend hied off to Japan and kept her fans updated about their trip by posting some pictures online.

The Taiwanese singer-songwriter received the Best Mandarin Album award during the 26th Golden Melody Awards held at the Taipei Arena on June 27.

Her 13th studio album, “Play,” released in Nov. 2014, got nominated in nine categories and emerged victorious in three.

Xiao An was accorded the Best Single Producer award for Tsai’s single, “Lip Reading.” “Play” was declared Best Vocal Recording Album.

The two first met in 2010 at the set of Tsai’s music video shoot for "Love Player," one of the tracks in her 11th album, “Myself.” He appeared as her male interest in the video. They have exclusively gone dating since then.

Dawson was born in Canada. His father is a New Zealander and his mother is a Singaporean-Chinese.

Listed at number 45 in CLEO Singapore 50 Most Eligible Bachelors 2009, Dawson, towering at 6’2" with more-than-average looks and sculpted physique, won the monthly women’s magazine’s annual event.

He had his film debut through a supporting role in David Chang’s 2012 action comedy, “Double Trouble,” which stars award-winning Chinese actor Xia Yu (“The Ghouls,” “Breakup Buddies”) and Hong Kong actor-singer Jaycee Chan (“Love Speaks,” “The Twins Effect II”). He became a lead star via Larry Yang’s 2014 romance, “Sorry I Love You,” opposite Chinese actress Xin Swan (“Lost Summer,” “Inside the Girls”).

Dawson was last seen acting in Guo Jingming’s 2015 rom-com, "Tiny Times 4.”

Tsai’s last boyfriend was fellow performer Jay Chou, who eventually settled down in 2014.

Chou is married to Taiwanese model-actress Hannah Quinlivan, aka Kin Ling (“Heart of Steel,” “Twa-Tiu-Tiann”). They are now parents to a baby daughter born in July.

Asian Pop News reported that Tsai and a couple of her friends baked a cake adorned with nine Minions in different popular characters (Baymax, Captain America, Hulk, Piccolo, Spider-Man, Superman, etc.) for Dawson’s 31st birthday on July 18.

Fans might already be excited to know what he would give to her when she turns 35 on Sept. 15.
