Google is reportedly preparing an irresistible package that is the LG Nexus 5 2015. And to tempt buyers on its rumored end of September release date, the vanilla Android device is likely priced significantly lower than the Motorola Nexus 6, a new report said.

According to Android Police, the new Nexus 5 is mainly designed as a mid-range affordable smartphone with specs that are slightly step back compared to flagship phones. The handset, however, is above decent and looking closely at the leaked specifications Android fans will find a number of compelling reasons why the LG Nexus 5 2015 is a better buy over the Moto X 2015.

Five of them are provided below:

Mid-range specs

Like the Moto X 2015, the new Nexus 5 is on Snapdragon 808 and 3GB of RAM with Adreno 418 as graphic engine. The storage options are 16GB and 32GB while the front panel stretches at comfortable 5.2-inch in Full HD 1080p screen resolution.

On paper the two are equals but the resurrected Nexus 5 has one glaring advantage - it will unbox with Android 6.0 Marshmallow while Moto X 2015 users will have to wait months before tasting the latest Android sweet.

Camera upgrade

From the first Nexus 5, Google will bump its signature phone's camera prowess to 12.3MP on rear and 5MP on front, Android Police said. It appears that the new Moto X camera combo of 21MP main and 5MP secondary will easily overwhelm the Nexus 5 but how the two will actually fare in a shootout remains to be seen.

What is known for now is Google will serve a considerable camera upgrade in the LG Nexus 5 2015, hardware and software-wise.

3 color options

The Moto X 2015 has its personalization option thanks to Moto Maker but Google is widening too the color options that would be available to would-be Nexus 5 buyers. The device will hit the Play Store in black, white and blue finishes, Android Police said.

Bigger batter and better power management

From the 2300mAh battery found in the Nexus 5 2013, the new Nexus 5 will rock with a 2700mAh power brick that seems insignificant in today's flagship standard. But this Nexus 2015 has a smaller screen profile compared to the Moto X 2015's 5.7-inch, which certainly demands more energy juice to run.

It is expected too that the LG Nexus 5 2015 will make full use of the new Android 6 powerful tool that Google named Doze to extend its projected operating hours in a single charge.

Sub-flagship pricing

Citing its unnamed source, Android Police described the new Nexus 5 as a sub-flagship device, which means it mostly will strut with flagship specs and features but the cash setback to consumers is not too high. No specific figures were provided in its report but Android Police seems certain that the sticker price is lower than that of the Nexus 6 last year, perhaps even more attractive than the Moto X 2015 starting price of $399.

Rumors say that the Google Nexus 5 2015 release date is September 29, the same day that the Android M-powered device will start appearing on Play Store.
