The "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" may just be the most successful film in the Naruto franchise making fans wonder when the next film would be released. Series creator Masashi Kishimoto, however, shared that he is done with the popular character for now.

Speaking to Anime News Network, Kishimoto said that he is ready to move on from the Naruto franchise, adding that he will be working on a new science-fiction project. Although Kishimoto refused to reveal details of his upcoming series, he teased that the protagonist is someone that fans have never seen before in any manga.

The creator also claimed that his latest creation may just surpass the success of Naruto. Kishimoto admitted that he hit gold with Naruto without meaning to do so, but this time around he is actually aiming to create a bigger, better manga character.

Kishimoto, however, added that the new series would not be released on a weekly basis, explaining that he no longer wanted to suffer from muscle strain.

According to Ecumenical News, "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" has earned more than $16 million since it first came out on Japan theatres on Aug. 7. In spite of multiple sites leaking copies of the movie, the ticket sales were reportedly not affected.

It was said that the leaked copy of the movie did not contain English subtitles, however, that did not stop fans from trying to find a download link from 4Chan, Reddit and other Torrent websites.

"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" is set to hit US theatres on Naruto's birthday, Oct. 10.
