The tech spotlight is currently aimed at Apple as the tech giant is poised to hold a major event on Sept. 9 where new flagship devices are expected to be revealed. It comes as no surprise as several leaks pertaining to upcoming Apple products starts hitting the Internet and the latest set of leaks involves the specs of the fourth generation Apple TV.

The leak was first picked up by 9to5Mac and reveals the specs and pricing of the Apple TV. The report claims that while the device will be reveal in the upcoming Apple event, it will not hit the market until October.

Compared to its predecessor, the fourth generation Apple TV sports an upgraded processor a larger body, a new remote control. Despite these significant upgrades, the new Apple TV lacks streaming support for 4K videos an still have the same ports as the last generation model.

Storage options of the new Apple TV will come in two variants, 8GB and 16GB. According to BGR, Apple is also planning to introduce two pricing scheme, either release the 8GB and 16GB model for $149 and $199, respectively. The other option is to release the 16GB model alone for $149.

The new Apple TV is powered by an A8 processor which is a significant upgrade compared to the single core A5 found on the current model. The device will also get its power via a wall socket rather than relying on batteries, this upgrade means that the device will receive more power thus improving its overall performance.

The upcoming Apple TV will also sport a new remote which is available in either dark gray or black. The new color variant makes the remote match the color aesthetic of the box. The remote is still made of metal and now sports two pair of tactile buttons for Siri and Home actions.
