Showtime's award-winning drama series "Homeland" will present Carrie (Claire Danes) faced with much antagonism from the male characters in season 5.
A new enemy has emerged to make Carrie's life difficult, The Wrap reported. Mike Brown (Max Beesley), an ex-Royal Marine, will find it humiliating to work under a woman. He will act as one of the private security contractors and an underling in the company for Carrie.
Brown will reportedly make things difficult for Carrie as he expresses doubt in her capability for the job. Similarly, Carrie's former co-worker Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) is plotting for something evil in collaboration with two-timing CIA agent Dar Adal (F. Murray Abraham), and the question left is whether the two are targeting Carrie.
Berenson will perceive Carrie a traitor to her own country. At the same time, the newly appointed CIA director will have Carrie work in a private security company in Germany as "counterproductive" to her previous values. Since Carrie is still a potential threat, Berenson could be planning something destructive against his former ally with the help of Adal.
Showtime released photos for the next season in which case Carrie is in a heated discussion with Berenson near a stairwell. According to the International Business Times, the CIA director could be in Berlin to see a former co-worker. However, there meeting seems to be a sad one since strain appears to emerge from the two.
Different photos reveal a dialogue between Saul and Quinn (Rupert Friends). The photos were in tandem with the trailer initially unveiled by Showtime, where Saul was encouraging Carrie's former boyfriend to kill someone. In the image, Quinn was setting up a bomb as a bound man is seated in a corner.
"Homeland" season 5 debuts on Oct. 4, Sunday on Showtime at 9 p.m. EST.
