During the IFA event earlier this week, Korean manufacturer Samsung announced that it would begin selling UHD Blu-ray players beginning 2016.

Considered as the world's first UHD Blu-ray players, the Samsung products would make their way to the market early next year, and would be priced at less than $500, International Business Times UK reported.

In the IFA showcase in Berlin, the Korean company emphasized the fact that while there are already various UHD (4K) TVs and displays in the market, UHD resolution content or videos are more difficult to come by.

Hopefully, the UHD Blu-ray player by Samsung can help alleviate this problem. In fact, the company revealed that 'Kingsman: The Secret Service', will be the first 20th Century Fox film to come out on UHD resolution. However, the CDs that it will come in are expected to cost around $30, due to the fact that such discs can hold up to 100GB of storage.

Meanwhile, Samsung also unveiled another range of television sets, this time with Super UHD resolution. The display will have various sizes ranging from 48 inches to 105 inches.

The company's SUHD television lineup will reportedly be comprised of 28 different models, wherein half of those will come with curved displays.

On the other hand, it is apparent that the IFA 2015 does not showcase any 3D TVs or displays just yet. In the report, it seems manufacturers are still finding ways to make images pop out of the display panel, without requiring users to wear the so-called 3D glasses.
