OnePlus One users are anxiously waiting for the revamped Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for their devices.

OnePlus had recently launched the customized Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for the OnePlus One device. It was released after an extremely long wait for the users. However, everything did not go as planned for the company.

As soon as the users began to download and install this upgrade, many major complaints started to flow in. As a result, the update was rolled back and is no longer available to download.

According to the reports, OnePlus is yet to issue an official explanation about these "complaints" which led to the pulling the plug on the customized Android Lollipop 5.1.1 upgrade. Apparently, the company wanted to save its reputation and negate the problems which were being caused due to the installation of this upgrade.

Users are very disappointed with the efficiency of this upgrade. It should also be noted that OnePlus uses the customized version of the Android operating system, making it vulnerable to defects like the present one.

When an Android device uses such a version of the operating system, it becomes pretty hard to pinpoint to a specific bug which causes an issue, as different users customize the ROM in their own way.

According to Android Community, there were a number of issues with the customized OS Cyanogen OS 12.1, which was being rolled out over the air to the devices.

Users who still want to download this upgrade can do so through unofficial release channels, but at their own risk. Taking such a high risk can completely brick a phone. It can also perform a master reset, which will make the user lose all the data and contacts of the device.

It is better to wait for the official re-release of this upgrade, which will not require any ROM flashing or master reset settings.

Meanwhile, there are speculations that OnePlus may totally skip the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update and directly go for the Android Marshmallow update. According to GSM Arena, it is expected to enhance the battery life and also improve the performance of the phone.
