A few days before the supposed iPhone 6S release date on September 18, Apple fans can trade in their old iPhones and realize saving of over $500. The immediate benefit is the possibility of taking home the new iOS smartphone without spending a dime.
BGR listed what it described as the swapping sites where sellers can get the best value for their old iPhones. If the plan is to use the credit to be obtained for an iPhone 6S or 6S Plus purchase then it is highly likely that owning the next iPhone will require no cash at all.
Over at Glyde.com, iPhone 6 owners planning to upgrade to the iPhone 6S can send in their good-as-new units and get an appraisal of up to $510. The iPhone 6S Plus will fetch a top value of $569 while the iPhone 5S at around $261. So if the iPhone 6S buy decision involves contract agreement with network service providers, customers can actually pocket a couple of hundred dollars while enjoying any of the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.
Last year, Apple offered the iPhone 6 starting at $199 and the 6 Plus at $299 and it is expected that the same pricing will apply for the 2015 flagships. But opting for the unlocked versions, buyers will to fork out additional dollars as the SIM-free iPhone 6S will likely retail starting at $649 with the 6S Plus at $749.
It should be noted too that Glyde.com will send shipping kit to confirmed deal-takers so swapping the iPhone 6, for example, and getting the freshly-minted iPhone 6S in exchange will be all performed and completed right at the comfort of your home.
It appears that NextWorth has the next best iPhone 6S swapping deal around. Exchanging the iPhone 6 using the site can fetch a value as high as $430 or $480 for the iPhone 6 Plus, BGR said on its report. While NextWorth may not be able to match the deals available via Glyde.com, what the former offers remains juicier than what Apple can give, the same report noted.
Orchard is another option for iPhone 6S shoppers looking to convert their old iPhones to cash. The Canadian site claims that their deals are irresistible, giving more than 50% of value compared to the competition.
Or resellers can take matter into their own hands by setting up auctions using the eBay channel. Depending on the condition of the handset to be placed on the market, the value can go as high as $400 plus if the device appears that it was freshly unboxed.
The countdown to the actual iPhone 6S and 6S Plus release date starts on September 9, the day Apple is believed to intro the new iOS 9-powered smartphones and other products, among them the overhauled Apple TV.
