Announced a few weeks ago in an exclusive Samsung event, the Galaxy Note 5 release date has hit the Indian market, and would be on sale beginning Sept. 20.

In a press event in New Delhi, the Korean manufacturer launched its newest Android-powered phablet for the Asian sub-continent and retail prices begin at INR 53,900 or about $807 for the 32GB model, while the handset costs INR 59,900 or around $897 for the 64GB edition.

The Galaxy Note 5 made its debut a few weeks before the IFA event in Berlin, where Samsung usually unveils its flagship phablets over the last few years.

However, the earlier announcement allowed Samsung to make its high-end Android smartphone available earlier in most markets worldwide, a reported by GSM Arena.

The high-powered device packs a 5.7-inch display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 4GB of RAM, and Samsung's own Exynos 7420 chip. Other features include a 16MP primary camera, 5MP front shooter, a 3,000mAh battery that supports fast-charging, and a fingerprint sensor.

The Galaxy Note 5 sheds the faux leather cover that was present in two recent versions of the flagship lineup, and instead opts for a glass panel that is similar to that of the Galaxy S6.

Meanwhile, there are also reports pointing to a possible launch of the Galaxy Note 5 in the United Kingdom. In the report by London24, the Android-powered device would reach the UK although there are no availability details just yet.
