With its successful run, "You're The Worst" has returned with season 2 on FXX on Sept. 9, Wednesday. In the season 2, both Aya Cash and Chris Geere have reprised their respective roles as Gretchen, a cynical Hollywood publicist, and Jimmy, a caustic British writer.
The episode, titled "The Sweeter People," showed how the two are working tirelessly to not become mature and normal by keeping themselves in a non-stop storm of drunken debauchery.
"You're The Worst" season 2 episode 1 picked up from where season 1 left off. Jimmy moves in with Gretchen and what follows is utter chaos. The two vehemently try to deny that they are in a normal, stable relationship who will love to spend a quite night at home.
Instead, the two are out every night, forcing themselves into doing endless shots, mounds of cocaine, and dangerous sexual adventures. Successive nights of partying turns into a game of chicken wherein both Gretchen and Jimmy are yearning for a quite night at home, but head out instead just to prove that they had the exceptional spark and are in no mood to slow down, only to discover unexplained injuries, bloody noses, and a stolen DVD kiosk in the mornings.
Beacause of their continuous partying, Gretchen fells asleep at work while Jimmy has to send a SOS message to his best friend Edgar (Desmin Borges) asking for him to rush over with Gatorade.
Meanwhile, Edgar is still pining for Lindsay, who is in turn ready to scoop to new lows to save her marriage with Paul (Allan McLeod). While she tries to seduce her husband back into the marriage, she also has secretly schemed to get pregnant via a used condom and her freezer.
