Dell is planning to release its own version of Microsoft's Surface tablet, making it a rival tablet against Surface Pro 3.

The report came from leaked slides first appeared in German tech website Giga, claiming the Dell is apparently working on its Surface Pro-like table called XPS-12. It stated that it is more advanced compared to Surface Pro 3 when it comes to the display and it has a stand-alone keyboard, which is also a Surface Pro main design. XPS-12’s keyboard will feature an illuminated keyboard and Dell assures that its touchpad will function flawlessly, The Verge reported. It will also provide a stylus for easier screen navigation. The 12-inch screen device will have a color-accurate 4K UHD with an InfinityEdge design that decreases the bezel size, offering a 3840 x 2160 screen resolution.

It will feature a Thunderbolt 3 port that allows one-cable docking, which is 8x faster in transfer speed compared to USB 3.0. Also, the device has a sharper 8-MP rear camera and with a 5-MP selfie front-camera. XPS-12 offers 10-hour battery life. However, there are no details about the processor, RAM, and internal storage, and the device houses Windows 10 since the company is also a distributor of Microsoft. Regarding the availability of Dell’s XP-12, the leaked documents points out that it could be launched on October, but there is not official price yet. Meanwhile, Lenovo has also unveiled its own Surface-like PC called Ideapad MIIX 700 at a price of $699, according to Slash Gear.
