"Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 premieres Sept. 24, 2015. Episode 1 of the newest instalment of ABC's long-running medical drama is titled "Sledgehammer," which deals with issue of bullying and its impact. Meanwhile, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) tries to adapt to the changes in her life with her three children and two new roommates. When "Grey's Anatomy" returns, doctors of the Grey Sloane Memorial hospital will be seen focusing on a new medical case that urges them to reflect on the past events of their life. Meanwhile, Meredith attempts to deal with the absence of her husband Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey).
According to the synopsis (via Spoiler TV) for "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 Episode 1 "Sledgehammer," a medical emergency of two young girls will see the doctors get into action as doctors attempt to save their lives. However, their powerful story will set a different mood in the hospital and the doctors will recall the bullying incidents that changed their lives.
Meanwhile, Meredith has two new roommates, her sister-in-law Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and her half-sister Maggie (Kelly McCreary). With two new roomies, Meredith must adapt to changes that they bring with them.
Fans can also expect to see some drama surrounding Bailey (Chandra Wilson), who is now looking to become the new chief of surgery. But her journey to the top is not going to be smooth as she must deal with her biggest challenge yet. According to Entertainment Weekly, actress Joey Lauren Adams has joined the cast as a guest star. She will reportedly be portraying the role of a character who is Catherine Avery's (Debbie Allen) candidate for the position of Chief of Surgery and Bailey's rival.
Furthermore, fans can expect to see Jackson and April together once again. Jackson makes arrangements as April returns to Seattle.
