The late music legend John Lennon had a dark side of personality which continues to shock fans over the years. Although he was known to be a man with violent attitude, his recent clip mocking the disabled is not taken down well in social media.

An archive clip, which was played at the Channel Four's show, "It Was Alright In The 1960s" on Sept. 20, Saturady, has once again spurred the fury among the viewers as it depicted the legendary musician making fun of disables people by making exaggerated movements in an offensive manner, Daily Mail reported.

Although the Beatles' co-founder's outragous show of behaviour does not come as an utter shock owing to his past history, it has evidently left the viewers disturbed and numb. Following the show, the social media was flooded with the disappointed reaction from viewers as they were rudely reminded of the star's views.

"#itwasalrightinthe1960s anybody who's read a bit about The Beatles knows that 'Saint' John Lennon had a cruel 'humour' about disabled people," tweeted an online commentator.

Although coveted as one of the best musicians ever, Lennon's life was often marred with reports of his violent outbursts and emotional abuse towards his son with his first wife, Cynthia. He even admitted during an interview in 1980 that he used to hit his wife and was being cruel to her several times.

Lennon's marriage had a bitter public breakdown in February 1968 when he drunkenly confessed to sleeping with other women. He reportedly almost killed a man once when he physically attacked the Cavern Club's MC Bob Wooler, leaving him hospitalized with broken ribs, Mirror reported.
