Do not disturb

WhatsApp group chat provides real-time connection and updates from a user's chosen circles but getting regular feeds or being forced into conversations is not always preferred. One needs not to leave a group to avoid disturbance. The simple trick is to mute a specific group chat by tapping its name then silence it for 8 hours, one week or even a year.

Users can also create custom notification for each WhatsApp contact or group chat that allows them to selectively check on delivered alerts. This is done by again tapping on a group chat name then heading to the Custom Notifications menu.

Save precious disk space

By default, WhatsApp on the iPhone stores photos on the camera roll that in time will eat up lots of storage space. The long-term impact is either running out of internal memory or slowing down of the device.

To prevent this from happening, users will need to access the device Settings then to Privacy and pick out the Photo app from the list. Once inside, turn off WhatsApp from the list of applications that save pictures via the Photo bank.

Switch numbers

In the event that users need to change their phone numbers, the switch is made easy by just going through this route on the application: Settings > Account > Change Number. Triggering the change number procedure will then start the transfer of a user's account details, the preferred WhatsApp configuration and group chats to the new number. The whole process is a walk in the park.

Seamless transition from mobile to desktop

WhatsApp is also available via desktop or laptop with the service called WhatsApp Web. Through a browser, users can automatically log in to the service by scanning the QR code with the WhatsApp mobile app. WhatsApp Web is essentially a clone of its mobile counterpart - having the same functions and features - so users are assured of smooth transition.
