Unione Sportiva Città di Palermo (2-1-1, 7 points) is set to clash with U.S. Sassuolo Calcio (2-0-2, 8 points) in a battle of two contending teams in the 2015-2016 Serie A season. The match will be held at the Stadio Renzo Barbera in Palermo on September 23, Wednesday.

The Eagles lost their last game against AC Milan on Saturday, 2-3, at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza as Colombian striker Carlos Bacca broke the 2-2 deadlock at the 75th-minute mark, as reported by SkySports.

Swedish midfielder Oscar Hiljemark provided the two goals for Palermo at the 32nd and 72nd minutes, but he could not equalize the count late in the game to try and save a point for Rosanero.

Sassuolo settled for a 2-2 draw against last season's runners-up, AS Roma, to also tie them in the overall standings with eight points each.

Strikers Grégoire Defrel and Matteo Politano scored the two winners for I Neroverdi while Francesco Totti and Mohamed Salah had the goals for Roma.

Defrel drew first blood at the 22nd-minute, which was equalized by Totti at the 36th. Politano left-footed a shot one minute before the halftime break, but Salah scored an amazing goal four minutes into the second half to level the game for good, via Daily Motion.

It would be a close, hard-fought match between Palermo and Sassuolo as neither team has any noticeable advantage from the other. It will come down to defense and willpower to determine who will prevail in the end.

Prediction: Sassuolo overcomes Palermo, 2-1.
