After two straight wins to open the season, Liverpool had been winless in its last four games and remained stuck at the bottom half of the 2015-2016 Premier League table as of the moment. Their last match was a 1-1 draw at home against newly-promoted team Norwich City.

Calls for Brendan Rodgers sacking is being heard all over Anfield, but before that might happen, the 42-year-old coach has plans to boost the Reds offense come winter transfer season.

Reds overtake Gunners as top destination for Denis Cheryshev: Reports were out that Liverpool is leading Arsenal in the race for the 24-year-old Los Blancos forward when the January window opens as he is said to be seeking a release from Rafa Benitez's squad.

Speculations abound that Cheryshev is unhappy at the Bernabéu because of lack of playing time as he is low in the pecking order of Benitez.

Rodgers is looking for a true attacking winger that could save the club this season and the Russian international fits the bill. Verdict: Fact.

Dries Mertens wants to leave Napoli for Liverpool: The 28-year-old Belgian recently told reporters that he is ready to go to the big stage and transfer to the Premier League from his lowly club in La Liga.

There were rumors that Anfield is his first option although there are no confirmations about it as of the moment.

It is also unclear whether Rodgers is interested in the veteran winger as he is said to be looking for younger players that can play for his squad for the long term. Verdict: Fiction.
