The launch of the Microsoft Surface Mini tablet may still happen, but after the scheduled Microsoft Surface Pro 4 release on Oct. 6.
There are reports saying that a miniature version of Surface Pro 4 is coming this year. This is thanks to the popularity and success of Surface Pro 3. A lot of consumers are anticipating the release of Surface Pro 4 early next month.
Surface Mini release is nothing new. IT Pro previously reported that Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will be released alongside a Surface Mini. The screen size of the miniature tablet remained undisclosed. However, based on the market, it will be around 8 inches. There is no official confirmation yet whether Microsoft will venture in miniature tablets.
The Surface Mini is set to battle the new iPad Mini 4 and to provide a smaller alternative to consumers who will find Surface Pro 4 too big for their needs.
Reports claimed that the Surface Mini will provide all the necessary features of a tablet, while delivering a performance at par with desktops by connecting Surface Mini in a bigger display. The miniature tablet will run with Windows 10 operating system bringing in new software features in the device.
Meanwhile, Microsoft announced that the Surface Pro 4 release will be on Oct. 6 alongside other Microsoft products - Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL and fitness Band 2.
However, the Redmond-based tech giant has not confirmed the existence of Surface Mini as well as its release date.
