Following a string of injuries, which led to him relinquishing both the WWE World Heavyweight and the WWE Intercontinental titles on separate occasions, Daniel Bryan has been seemingly relegated to promoting the brand on a different level.

A week ago, famous gaming website, IGN, caught up with the "Yes!" man to get updates about his current state and plans for the future.

"So, we don't know," was all Bryan can say when asked about his return match. "I had a concussion in April, and obviously they're very hyper-sensitive about concussion stuff right now."

After getting a clearance from a renowned Super Bowl neurologist and being denied by the WWE's resident doctor, Bryan puts his trust on a third specialist who will, ultimately, determine his fate in the business.

He obviously craves to be back inside the squared circle as soon as possible, but behind that hunger, there's always the possibility of seeing an end to his storied yet brief wrestling career.

It's definitely tough for a passionate guy like Daniel Bryan to turn his back on a venture he started close to two decades ago.

"My last job was at a video store slash tanning salon that is now defunct," quipped the former Wrestlemania headliner. "But I've mostly been doing wrestling since I was 18 years old. It's hard for me to envision doing something else until I'm ready."

Daniel Bryan also shared an interesting discussion with one of his closest friends in the WWE.

"John Cena and I actually had this discussion. He said, 'if something were to happen to you and the WWE, would you go back to doing the indies?' Absolutely!"

He continued: "I've gotten this sudden fascination with the lore of lucha."

Minus the backup plan to take his talents south of the border, Bryan seemed to have done it all in the WWE in a short span of time.

He's the 26th and the 13th Triple Crown and Grand Slam Champion, respectively.

Apart from winning the 2011 SmackDown Money in the Bank, he top billed major pay-per-views such as SummerSlam in 2013 and Wrestlemania XXX in 2014.

Now, as he waits for his future to unravel, Daniel Bryan looks back at his journey, the road he took to fulfill his passion.

"It's not even about being at the top as far as winning the title, or even main eventing Wrestlemania. It's about are you satisfied," he shared. "And that's what we're all kind of searching for."

Bryan concluded: "It's the idea that that's how I express myself creatively. It's like telling a painter 'you've done it all in painting.' That's not the point. I like to paint. That's the part that people don't understand. This is a part of me."
