Samsung is working closely with Synaptics to make a display that will facilitate 3-D Touch technology similar to Apple's iPhone Force Touch, according to Business Insider.

The Cupertino corporation, Apple, earlier this year equipped its latest generation iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus with pressure sensitive technology that offers users an alternative to zoom in or pan out a photo in addition to other functions by pressing harder on the display.

Earlier this month, Synaptics developed ClearForce technology that is similar to the Force Touch but for Android smartphones, iDigital Times reported. ClearForce provides three types of input including the tap, the press, and the deep press. The third option functions like the right click on a normal computer mouse.

Synaptics points out that the company is planning for mass production of the new technology for a number of OEMs and the first iteration of new gadgets featuring ClearForce will hit the market by mid 2016. Currently, the new feature can only roll out for smartphones.

Samsung already adopted ClearForce for its phablet devices, but the pressure sensitivity works exclusively with an S-Pen that comes with Galaxy Note 5. It is unclear how Samsung will integrate the new technology on its flagship or how similar the function would be to the Force Touch.

There is no official confirmation from Samsung concerning the ClearForce technology rumored to come to the company's Galaxy S7.
