The Nintendo NX on release date is expected to defeat both the PS4 and Xbox One and it appears that the secret formula has been revealed - package the upcoming gaming machine as the Wii U and 3DS rolled into one and deploy it with powerful specs.

The new rumors that emerge make sense, specifically the claim that the NX is out to overwhelm its Sony and Microsoft rivals. Per Wii U Daily, the next Nintendo gaming device will surely beat the PS4 and the Xbox One in the hardware department. "The NX is more powerful than the PS4 and Xbox One," the blog report said.

The NX is destined to be triumphant over the competition as Nintendo intends to stuff its flagship gaming device with "industry-leading and cutting-edge internal chips." What exactly the internal hardware specs are were not discussed in the report.

Wii U Daily, however, is speculating that Nintendo will at least match Sony and Microsoft on the following areas - top-notch graphics rendering and gameplay that supports both 1080p and 4K monitors or television.

But beyond the internals, the form-factor also matters and a new report from Tech Insider indicates that Nintendo is building the NX with the Wii U and 3DS in mind. "Nintendo's next console is both Wii U and 3DS," the publication said.

"People familiar with the development plans said Nintendo would likely include both a console and at least one mobile unit that could either be used in conjunction with the console or taken on the road for separate use," Tech Insider adding, pointing to a story from The Wall Street Journal as source of its information.

The tech site also affirmed the earlier reports that the Nintendo NX will unbox with superior hardware specs and is at least "far more powerful than Nintendo's current hardware offerings."

But the most interesting part of The Journal report, Tech Insider notes, is the likelihood of the Nintendo NX release date actually happening anytime in 2016, belying the recent rumor that the device is still in the concept stage and will not materialize until 2017.
