Currently in select theaters, "Revenge of the Green Dragons" features two Chinese directors, Andrew Lau and Andrew Loo, with "The Wolf of Wall Street" director Martin Scorcese as executive producer.

Co-written by Loo and Michael Di Jiacomo, the story of "Revenge of the Green Dragons" revolves around two best friends Sonny and Steven, played by Justin Chon and Kevin Wu, who rose through the ranks of the Chinese underworld in New York in the 1980s.

Recently, Lau and Loo discussed the film, particularly its lead actors Chon, Wu and Ray Liotta and the involvement of Scorcese, in an interview with Mstarz News.

While Lau was born and raised in Hong Kong with a background as a camera man, Loo was born and raised in the United States with a background from the producing side.

As directors, Loo said they are "actually obviously, very different" and the natural difference lends itself to "a very complementary approach."

According to Loo, the lead actors of "Revenge of the Green Dragons" playing best friends are best friends in real life and they "just had a natural chemistry."

Playing Michael Bloom in the film, Emmy winner Ray Liotta "was a real pro" and his past involvement with film might have intimidated some people in "Revenge of the Green Dragons," according to Loo.

On the other hand, Lau said Liotta was very easy to work with.

"I still remember when we shot the first day, he just flew from L.A., and he just arrived. And then, he went to make-up and we shoot, and I still remember that talk before at Brooklyn Heights. He's easy!" Lau recalled.

Other lead actors in the film are Harry Shum Jr. and Eugenia Yuan, who play the villains based on people who actually existed, according to IGN.

About Scorcese's involvement in "Revenge of the Green Dragons," Lau jokingly said it was "just luck."

"Maybe we have some relationship. He bought 'Infernal Affairs,'" Lau said, referring to his 2002 film remade by Scorcese as "The Departed."
