Recent reports have emerged that football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is currently "unhappy" with the way new Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez has been handling things at the Bernabéu this season and that Los Blancos officials have made him available for £73 million, boosting Manchester United's chances of landing the prized forward this January.

Metro indicated that the 30-year-old Portugal captain is "fed-up" with what his new coach is doing in the Spanish capital as of late and is looking for a release from the squad.

Aside from his five-goal haul against Espanyol in a La Liga match last September 12, Ronaldo is said to be virtually underused by Benitez, who just took over from Carlo Ancelotti as Madrid manager in June of this year.

Mirror noted that Real president Florentino Perez is not planning to extend Ronaldo's contract, which lasts until 2018, indicating that the Bernabéu may not want to keep him anymore as he is already in the wrong side of 30 by then.

It was also reported that Perez is willing to "let the forward leave if an attractive offer comes in", which seems like a go-signal for his closest pursuer, Louis van Gaal and United, to swoop in when the winter window opens early next year.

Aside from the Red Devils, Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly interested in acquiring the services of the two-time FIFA Ballon d'Or winner as well.

While there are no official reports of the exact amount Les Parisiens are willing to bid for Ronaldo, it would certainly be also within the range of what United will offer.

Ronaldo just became Real's all-time leading goal scorer, with 324 in 310 games, after converting a goal in Los Vikingos' 3-0 romp of Levante last Saturday.
