Aston Villa has parted company with former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood. Sherwood who is a former Tottenham reserve team manager and coach has only been the manager of the Midlands side for eight months.  The former Blackburn midfielder has been the victim of a desperate start to the season by Villa.

The Villains haven't won since the opening day and the 2-1 loss at home to Swansea proved to be the final straw for impatient owner Randy Lerner. Sherwood last season enjoyed a fine season with the Midlands side after guiding Aston Villa to an FA Cup final.

This season, however, has been a struggle, the departures of Fabien Delph and Christian Benteke haven't helped Villa's cause. The former Villa duo were key to Villa's success last year, but this season has been a struggle due to new signings not having settled in as of yet.

Whoever does replace the former Tottenham boss, they will no doubt have a tricky task on their hands. Tough times ahead Villa fans, tough times ahead. I would personally put Burnley boss Sean Dyche as an early favourite, but would the Burnley boss leave Turf Moor for a job of uncertainty?

You would have to question such a decision. Aston Villa is fast becoming a graveyard for good managers. David O'Leary, Paul Lambert and now Tim Sherwood have all been shown the exit door at Villa park.

God help the new manager, whoever is brave enough to take such a job.
