"The Walking Dead" (TWD) Season 6 Episode 3 "Thank You" ended with a shocker leading fans to believe that Steven Yeun's fan-favourite character might already be dead. But Is Glenn Rhee really dead? While some believe that Rick Grimes' (Andrew Lincoln) saviour in the Atlanta camp group may have already been killed, there are some who think he will return. However, series' creator Scott M. Gimple promised fans that Glenn's story has not ended yet. [Spoiler alert! This article contains update for "The Walking Dead" (TWD) Season 6. Do not read further if you are avoiding spoilers.]

In the latest episode of "The Walking Dead" (TWD) Season 6, fans saw Glenn and Nicholas stranded on the top of a dumpster as a giant herd of walkers approached them. Nicholas decided to end his life before being torn into pieces by the Zombies. Thus, he shot himself in the head. As he collapsed, his body hit Glenn and they both fell on the ground. The next thing fans saw was Zombies brutally tearing out someone's abdomen and Glenn screaming in horror.

In the latest episode of "The Talking Dead," the show host Chris Hardwick read a statement by "The Walking Dead" (TWD) producer Scott M. Gimple talking about Glenn and his potential return to the Season 6. The co-creator refrained from giving away specific details but promised that this is not the last time fans saw Glenn.

"This is a hard story to tell, and when we were planning to tell it, we knew our friends at 'Talking Dead' would be talking to you about it. And knowing you would all be talking and feeling and commizorating, I knew we should say something about it lest our silence say something we didn't mean to say or not say. So I'll say this: In some way, we will see Glenn, some version of Glenn, or parts of Glenn again, either in flashback or in the current story to help complete the story," said Scott M. Gimple's in his statement (as quoted by The Wrap.)

Meanwhile, several media outlets are speculating that Glenn may not be dead already. However, if Glenn is really dead, then this would be "The Walking Dead" (TWD) Season 6's first major death and a pretty heart breaking one. But we cannot say that for sure.

According to Vanity Fair, the scene didn't actually show Glenn dead. The entertainment publication is speculating that Nicholas' body may have ended over Glenn's body and acted as a "human shield." Meanwhile, the website argues that the showrunners will not kill Glenn in such an "offhanded" way considering that he played a pivotal role in the series since he first appeared in Season 1.

Furthermore, the report reveals that in the comic book Glenn plays a significant role in a storyline about a group called the Saviours. It is said, if showrunners plan to feature that story in the show, at some point in the future, then Glenn needs to return to "The Walking Dead" (TWD).
