The day after Singles' Day, the Alibaba founder was interviewed on "Dialogue," a well-known talk show program on CCTV.

In the interview, Jack Ma expressed his gratitude to all the Chinese women who shopped and placed orders online on Tmall during Singles' Day.

Jack Ma said that these women had a large contribution, not only by shopping for themselves, but also by purchasing for their family.

Before Singles' Day, retired but famous English football player David Beckham was invited to pay Alibaba a visit and was also requested to stand as a spokesperson for Tabao.com, another online shopping website in China that Ma founded in 2003.

"I share a common feature representation with David Beckham. Both of us are so lucky that we are supported by women," said Ma during the interview.

Ma said that he was surprised by the contributions of the Chinese women and did not know how long they waited for the online shopping bonanza.

In addition, Ma is targeting that future Singles' Day shopping sprees will generate 100 billion yuan ($16 billion).

He also mentioned that more foreign products will be on sale on Alibaba's e-commerce websites Taobao and Tmall.

Ma hinted that there will be a big surprise on Singles' Day's 10th year.
