The latest "X-Men: Apocalypse" plot spoilers center on the whether the movie will remain faithful to an important detail in the comics.

Quicksilver was one of the scene-stealers in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" with the most memorable scene, but his role in the mutant movie universe may change with the much awaited answer to the unresolved question: Is Magneto the father of Quicksilver, just like in the comic books?

According to Evan Peters who plays the part of the mutant speedster, the issue will be resolved in a full storyline in the sequel. He mentioned in an interview with Details:

"The story is that my character is searching for his father and wants to find him. It starts there and then he jumps on the X-Men train and gets sucked up in this whole Apocalypse madness: He tries to stop him from destroying the world."

The connection could easily be established if Quicksilver is with the X-Men, but will director Bryan Singer remain faithful to the source material?

He has already deviated by not introducing the Scarlet Witch into the universe, which led some to believe that it's a "sharing" concept with Marvel Studios. The latter introduced their own version of Quicksilver in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, but had him killed off in action.

In "Apocalypse," Magneto is rumored to be one of the Four Horsemen, and he could face off with his Quicksilver in a "Star Wars" style plot twist, as Screen Rant envisioned, with father and son on opposite sides. But there might be a different twist.

"The two met, presumably for the first time, when Quicksilver broke Magneto out of his underground plastic prison, and now it seems he will be called upon to rescue his father once again."

There were previous rumors that Magneto would meet his death in the movie (or at least, be in a situation where the possibility is high) and perhaps Quicksilver can be his hero.

We'll have to wait for the grand revelation on May 27, 2016.
