Amazon has exclusively released the trailer of Spike Lee's latest masterpiece "Chi-Raq." The title is a word play on Chicago and Iraq. Chicago's South Side is known for its high crime rates, reportedly outnumbering the death toll of America's Special Forces in Iraq.

Variety reported that the film is based on the Aristophanes' Greek comedy "Lysistrata."

The movie tackles the men's gun violence in different neighborhoods in Chicago. The film is described as a satire as it shames the gun violence through humor.

According to Time, the controversial film will be released on December 4 on select theaters before it will be available on Amazon Instant Video.

Teyonah Parris, ("Mad Men") who plays Lysistrata, takes on the lead role as the one who rallies women to withhold sex from their husbands and partners until they stop gun violence.

The women even have their own battle cry saying, "I will deny right of access and entrance." The film also shows empty strip clubs as women take this abstinence seriously.

The film is written, directed, and produced by Lee. Kevin Willmott is his partner in writing the script.

Lee is known for directing the movies "Malcolm X," "Do the Right Thing," "Mo' Better Blues," "She's Gotta Have It," "School Daze," "Inside Man," "Jungle Fever," "He Got Game," "25th Hour," and "Bamboozled."

The movie also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Angela Bassett, John Cusack, Nick Cannon, Jennifer Hudson, Wesley Snipes, Steve Harris, D.B. Sweeney, and Henry Lennix.

The film will be released under Amazon Studios and 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks.
