Rumors abound that Ligue 1 champion Paris Saint-Germain is moving ahead of Premier League powerhouse Manchester United in the chance to sign Real Madrid megastar Cristiano Ronaldo as the Portuguese captain is reportedly planning to transfer off the Bernabéu next season.

ESPN reported that Ronaldo, who at 30 years old is considered as one of the two best football players in the world today, had a short chat with Les Parisiens head honcho Laurent Blanc during the clubs' recent Champions League meeting where Los Blancos emerged victorious, 1-0.

Blanc fanned the transfer rumor flames further by telling the media after the game that the Portugal international told him "certain things" and that he will not disclose them yet, but they were "very complimentary anyway."

The Sun noted that PSG is preparing to bid £100 million to acquire Ronaldo, which is also a target not only by Louis van Gaal and the Red Devils but by Jose Mourinho and Chelsea as well.

Ronaldo reportedly winked at PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi after his conversation with Blanc, which was clearly covered by the media, underlining that he already has a "close relationship" with the Parisian squad and sparking speculations of an impending transfer.

Before the game, it was reported that Real president Florentino Perez asked Ronaldo about his recent interview where he said that "his future could lie elsewhere."

Allegedly, the two-time FIFA Ballon d'Or winner was offended by Perez's interrogation, which is rumored to be the reason why Ronaldo showed his closeness to the PSG officials during the match.

This news is a big blow to United fans, and the Premier League as well, as van Gaal is said to be hoping he can get Ronaldo to come back to Old Trafford before he retires two years from now.
