Xiaomi Mi 5 is rumored to feature Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 820 chipset.

In line with its official launch in December, Chinese tipster Leaksfly claims the new handset will get Snapdragon 820 chipset after Qualcomm launches its new chip. Specifically, the Mi5 could hit the market on Dec. 3. Xiaomi will be the first company to ship a device with the Snapdragon 820 onboard, Android Headlines reported.

Previous rumor said that the new Qualcomm chip will be announced on Nov. 10 in New York, but recent rumor stated that it will happen on Nov. 20. If this is true, the Mi 5 could technically ship with the Snapdragon 820 SoC on the inside, but interested customers should wait for the launch of the device.

However, if the alleged announcement date of the phone is all true, and the device will probably become available in the first quarter of 2016.

Earlier rumors suggest the Mi5 could be Xiaomi’s first all-metal smartphone. It is rumored as well to sport a 5.2-inch QHD display along with 3 or 4GB of RAM. Company’s MIUI 7 OS will quite probably come pre-installed on this device.

Additionally, another claim said that the privately owned Chinese electronics company is working directly with Synaptics to include a pressure sensitive ClearForce display in the Mi5, according to TechnoBuffalo. The new technology is often described as a copy of Apple’s 3D Touch, but it offers more features. Users will be able to zoom, scroll, pan across the screen and even wake up the device by pressing down in different places with varying force.
