The name Edith Bosch surely won't ring a bell compared to say a Miesha Tate, a Sara McMann, or even a Liz Carmouche; however, the mere mention of this identity flashes back haunting memories to an undefeated UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion.
Bosch, an accomplished judoka from Den Helder, North Holland, is only the last person to give Ronda Rousey a rare defeat - a deed she accomplished during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. China.
"I had short hair, I was looking brutal," said Bosch in an interview with MMAJunkie. "My attitude and my mindset was, 'you are in my way, I am going to kill you, because I want to get a medal.'"
These came out of the mouth of the beast's conqueror, claiming that the first step to beating Rousey starts in the mind.
Looking back, Bosch won a quarterfinal match that went to a "golden score," before securing a bronze medal in the winner's bracket.
As a side note, her achievement of beating the "baddest woman on the planet" even spilled outside the mat, as the 35-year-old Bosch is also known for punching a man who once threw plastic bottle onto the track of the Men's 100 metres final at the 2012 London Olympics.
While on the subject of the Summer Games, Edith Bosch shared how Ronda Rousey was unpopular among other judokas.
"Everything starts with the weigh in," she claimed. "Everybody is always silent and quiet because a lot of people have to lose weight. When she got into the weigh-in room she was talking loud and all busy, and wearing pajamas."
Bosch followed: "I always looked at her and I wondered, 'Okay, for her (the fight) already starts here. On the mat she is a (expletive). But you have to be. I was too. We didn't talk."
As many might recall, Rousey revealed in her best-selling book, My Fight/Your Fight, how she "looked like a hobbit next to" a "six-foot Dutch chick with an eight pack."
The UFC champ also accused Bosch for punching her in the face three times and dislocating her elbow during the said match.
Ironically, these things are just some of the qualities Rousey does pretty well to be considered as a "once-ever" mixed martial arts fighter.
When asked about the possibly of stepping inside the cage with the women's bantamweight title holder, Bosch curtly replied: "I thought about it a couple of times. Of course you are wondering what would happen if I picked up MMA as well and we were in a cage and really got it on."
And with a grin a mischievous Hollywood villain, Edith Bosch concluded: "I would really love to punch her though."
