"The Voice" mentor Blake Shelton will be hosting Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards next year while the country singer opened up about the divorce with Miranda Lambert.

In a "Today" show interview, Shelton, 39, told Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb about the "big" announcement the country celebrity was teasing about on a Twitter post.

"I just want to get slimed," the musician revealed to the "Today" hosts.

A photo showing Shelton getting slimed was also released to the public, according to New York Daily News.

Likewise, the coach from the hit reality competition "The Voice" made remarks about the divorce with fellow country singer Miranda Lambert. The two separated from each other back in June.

The "Austin" performer noted that the noticeable change in his appearance was mainly caused by the decision to stop eating much food immediately after the divorce with Lambert, 32.

However, the singer has not removed beer from the diet, sparking a bit of criticism from some fans of the Kids' Choice Awards. Aside from this, Shelton's habit of cursing from time to time has raised the ire of some people.

In other news, there were expectations that Shelton's announcement would actually be about his relationship with fellow "The Voice" mentor and "No Doubt" singer Gwen Stefani.

The reason why the "Today" show did not have any details about the new blossoming relationship between the two singers was because the interview happened before Shelton's representative confirmed on Nov. 4, Wednesday, which Stefani and Shelton were officially dating.

Meanwhile, the last Kid's Choice Awards was hosted by singer and actor Nick Jonas, according to Billboard.

Before the "Jonas Brothers" member took reigns, the "Entourage" actor Mark Wahlberg hosted the show that experienced a decline in ratings.

Aside from Jonas and Wahlberg, other hosts picked for the child-oriented awards show were "I Am Legend" actor Will Smith, "Safe Haven" star Josh Duhamel and popular comedian and musician Jack Black.

Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards will happen on March 12, 2016.
