Recent NBA rumors abound of the impending split of the Sacramento Kings' head coach George Karl and franchise player DeMarcus Cousins after "in-house issues" reports went out to the public this week.

ESPN noted that Karl would most likely be fired than Cousins traded if the team could not work it all out internally.

Then again, the option of trading Cousins is reportedly there as he is still a well sought-after player because of the numbers he can produce on the court and many analysts have suggested of possible trade scenarios if the Kings would decide to go for the second option of trading Boogie and restarting the franchise.

One of the suggested trade destinations for Cousins is the Washington Wizards as the capital city squad is said to have received a bad "rant" from head coach Randy Wittman about his big men's "lack of rebounding" after their 125-101 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday.

However, CSN Mid-Atlantic's J. Michael said that "it's doubtful that a team such as the Wizards, who value locker-room stability in light of the dysfunction that existed when they drafted John Wall at No. 1 overall in 2010, would be seriously interested if - and that's a huge if - Kings owner Vivek Ranadive opted to start over."

It has been widely known around league circles that Ranadive is the number one fan of Cousins and that the team owner would like to keep him no matter what.

Ranadive's insistence of sticking with Cousins is actually the source of a disagreement with Karl during the offseason when the coach publicly declared his intention to trade the All-Star big man to Denver for allegedly his former Nuggets players Kenneth Faried and Ty Lawson.

Former Celtics player Cedric Maxwell, who is now a radio broadcaster, said that he "wouldn't give you a bag of donuts" for Cousins to be in his team, as per Town Fair Tire Sports Tonight.

Rumors of an impending deal between the Kings and Celtics are buzzing around, which prompted Maxwell to make such comments. The 59-year-old retired NBA player even insinuated that Cousins has a "tremendous skill set" but he is just a "cancerous" player.

"I really am not a big fan because of the way he's acted on and off the court," Maxwell ended.
