Ace racer Lewis Hamilton took to Instagram to urge his as followers that they should not believe what they read about him disrespecting Michael Schumacher. He addressed the post to all Michael Schumacher fans.

"To all the Michael Schumacher fans, I want you to know how big a fan and admirer of Michaels I am. I grew up watching him from the early days through to his 7th title. He was and is the greatest of our time and I am hugely proud and grateful to have met him and spent even the littlest time with. He was always kind to me," Hamilton captioned the photo of himself with Schumacher.

"One day at his last race, I managed to find the courage to go see him and ask if he would honour me by swapping helmets in which he so graciously did. Please do not believe all that you read. I would never wish to disrespect him nor his family and I hold them in the highest regard. I keep him in my prayers as a fellow driver wishing for his recovery. Best wishes to you. Lewis #Legend #respect #godbless."

Hamilton had to post this update after he faced major backlash for allegedly criticizing Schumacher's accolades. He also reportedly compared his achievements.

Hamilton, reportedly, stated that he never did things that Schumacher did to win his titles. Also, he [Hamilton] won his titled with his "natural abilities only," according to Kolner Express.

It is yet to be seen if the comments were really made by Hamilton.

Meanwhile, Schumacher's family generally update about his health condition via the website of Formula 1, however fans use #KeepFightingMichael to show their support for the racer.

When #KeepFightMichael was trending on Twitter, Schumacher's family responded and paid gratitude to the fans.

"We still receive wishes for Michael to get well soon every day, and still we are stunned by the sheer amount of sympathies. We can only always thank you for facing this fight together with him and us. We remain confident and hope the best for Michael. Your strength is helping us to keep supporting him." (Via Cross Map).
