Clash of Clans developer Supercell has confirmed in a statement that the biggest update that the super-hit strategy game will get is indeed delayed until next month and the release date will likely happen starting December 7. The pushback, the COC maker said, was due to the introduction of "quality-of-life changes."

Clashers of all kind can also expect of COC feature upgrades that are deliberately designed for everyone, which explains why the update arrival is taking slightly longer than expected. "We want to make sure that we have time to go over everything as we finish up our balancing and testing," Supercell said in a statement posted on the company's official forum page.

It appears too that the upgraded COC will address "the complaints by many that the upcoming update seemed to be only for those at the upper echelons of the game," Touch Arcade said in a report. So the upgrade flavors are practically cooked up for everyone.

What exactly to expect, Supercell has provided in a short list:

  • Shields, including the exciting new "Village Guard" concept
  • Session timers and the Personal Break
  • Multiplayer matchmaking
  • League Bonuses
  • High-level Trophy calculations

While the specific details are withheld for now, Gotta Be Mobile offered some insights on how the update will play out. For instance, the enhanced COC Shields are seen to give more robust protection to players' accumulated resources.

Personal Break should be the timeout given to a player with the assurance that his or her base is not exposed to raids and attacks, but this will surely be balanced to ensure that the excitement of acquiring resources from rival bases will remain the same.

And tweaks will be implemented on multiplayer matchmaking, bonus system and trophy calculations in order for skilled players to win more trophies from bases, GBM said.

Now the best part of the latest Supercell update is the solid indication that the much-awaited Sneak Peek of the COC feature upgrades will certainly start rolling out on November 23, in which gamers will finally see what the announced Level 11 Town Hall and a Third Hero were all about.

The Sneak Peeks, according to Anoushka of Supercell, will run for approximately 14 days and afterwards, the main event - the Clash of Clans update release date - that likely will fall on December 7.
