Based on the roadmap made available on the official website of OnePlus, it is revealed that an update of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow is slated to be released to its handsets OnePlus One, OnePlus X and OnePlus 2 very soon.

According to BetaNews, it was revealed that users of OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 can expect to watch the new operating system on their mobiles. Coming on the wheels of this news, it is further revealed that OnePlus India has announced that smartphones of the OnePlus X series, which is sold in India, would have extended services as planned by the company.

The company also confirmed that OnePlus One will start receiving the update of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow in the first quarter of 2016, and that OxygenOS community builds will be updated for OnePlus One when feasible.

According to reliable sources, OnePlus 2 will also receive the update in the first quarter of 2016, which will add the Marshmallow API new standard for fingerprint sensor. Carl Pel, co- founder of One Plus, confirmed that in spite of requests to create an API for the implementation of the current fingerprint in OxygenOS, the company has decided against it.

He also confirmed that the switchover of the implementation to the standard Android M will soon take place. Pel also announced that the company is trying its best to roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow for OnePlus X.
