Pokémon fans are likely to unbox the best Christmas gift this December 2015 - the rumored release date of the latest installment in the gaming franchise, the Pokémon Z that likely will be followed by the augmented reality-focused Pokémon GO. As a big bonus, the Pokémon GO Plus, optimized for AR-centric gaming, will launch at the same time with the latter title.
While The Pokémon Company, creator of the popular game series, is not giving out word on the matter fans are holding their breath for the supposedly major Pokémon announcement that the December 15 issue of Japanese manga CoroCoro will carry. And as the wait continues, feature upgrades packed with the Pokémon X and Y follow up are subject of swirling rumors. Three of them are listed below:
New monsters and region to look forward to
Pokémon Z is only expected to exceed the things seen in X and Y and to achieve that the latest Pokémon will surely unveil new batch of characters that according to Christian Post will arrive in two clusters - Light and Cosmic Pokémon. At least five Pokémon legends are to be expected, led by Xerneas, Yveltal and Zygarde, the latter rendered in five different forms is said to be the central character of the latest version.
The new game will introduce 25 new pocket monsters, 25 Mega evolutions and a Spanish-themed region called Ampardo, Christian Post said.
Personalized Pokémon
In a report, Movie Pilot outlined the features that likely will serve as the key ingredients to make Pokémon Z the most successful title in the series. One that tickles the imagination is the possible return of character customization that will allow gamers to toy around with "your trainer right down to their facial features."
As the report stressed, "the original appeal of Pokémon was to imprint yourself onto the game mechanics, mostly through cultivating a cool and varied line-up of Pokémon."
Graphical treat
Movie Pilot also noted that Pokémon X and Y proved as the most immersive in the series so far thanks to huge graphical improvements that rendered the game setting "seemed alive." Pokémon Z will need to surpass this notable upgrade, the report said, adding that a good start would be the inclusion of "a dynamic camera or more complex environmental aesthetics."
