Intel announced on Tuesday, that it will drastically change its principles and increase the number of women and minority workers to be employed in the next five years.  A $300 million allocated financial plan is in place.

Brian Krzanich, Intel's CEO, explains that the company has focused on its goal to benefit the workforce. He added that in all levels of the company diversity will take place. They intend the company to have a fully represented variety of talents and skills by the year 2020.

The management admits that they will encourage women and citizens of all races to join the tech industry.  Intel wants to show and lead by example, inviting the entire technology to join them.

"This isn't just good business," Krzanich said. "It's the right thing to do."

The allocated budget shall be used to hire and also for the progression and retention of the minorities within the company.  Intel shall hold its leaders accountable to this plan by sending progress reports consistently and tying their pay to it.

In 2014, several tech companies have disclosed their figures regarding diversity in the workforce and also the broadcasting of hiring more minorities. These companies include Facebook, Google, Apple, and Twitter.

Intel's message is by far the strongest which was praised by Rev. Jesse Jackson who has been encouraging tech companies to diversify their workforce.

As per US Census, the United States population at this time consists of 17.1% Hispanic, 13.2% black Americans, 5.3% Asians, to which 51% are women.
