John Travolta, after more than 30 years since his first TV appearance, is returning to the small screen in a 10-episode miniseries of the "American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson."
The 60-year-old Hollywood actor will play as Simpson's defense attorney Robert Shapiro in the TV portrayal of the football star's murder trial.
American Crime Story, which will be shown on U.S. TV network FX, will tell the story of the trial, which went on from 1994 up to 1995, through the perspective of both the prosecution and defense teams.
"American Horror Story" star Sarah Paulson will be opposing Travolta as Marcia Clark the prosecutor.
Travolta, who first appeared on TV screens on 1979, will also be joined by Cuba Gooding Jr. as Simpson and David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian, who is the defendant's lawyer and friend. Robert is also the father of reality TV star and model Kim Kardashian.
According to The Guardian, the father of three began his TV career in the sitcom "Welcome Back, Kotter," in which he played the role of an Italian-American heartthrob named Vinnie Barbarino.
Travolta's first series paved the way for his break in the film industry with classics "Grease" and "Saturday Night Fever" during the 1970s.
The upcoming crime series is based on a book titled "The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson" written by Jeffrey Toobin.
According to Reuters, the FX network has no announcements yet regarding the premiere of the series, which will portray true to life crime stories.
