Cosby joked "Be careful drinking around me" to a woman in the audience. The line is presumed to be a reference to the sexual allegations the comedian received. Most of the women complained that Cosby drugged them in their drinks.

The audience was surprised at first but applauded and cheered after a few seconds.  One man shouted "You are a rapist!" but the security officers pulled him out of the area.

Cosby's joke was not funny for some people including lawyer Gloria Allred who represents seven of the comedian's alleged victims, Los Angeles Times reported

Allred said that Cosby "deepened the emotional injury that many of the alleged victims feel that they have suffered because of what they believe he inflicted upon them."

The lawyer added that the actor used humor to "distract" the serious rape allegations against him. Allred emphasized that the drugging of these women that lead to rape is not a laughing matter.

Chicago's Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment founder Angela Rose also expressed her disappointment about Cosby's joke.

"As both a survivor of sexual assault and as an advocate, I am appalled at Bill Cosby making a joke about drug and alcohol-facilitated sexual assault," Rose said.

The founder further discussed that rape may affect the victims for a lifetime and described the joke as "disgraceful" and "reprehensible."

Meanwhile, Cosby released an official statement after the show to thank the people who attended, ABC News reported.

"One outburst but over 2600 loyal, patient and courageous fans enjoyed the most wonderful medicine that exist for human-kind. Laughter. I thank you... I'm Far From Finished," Cosby said.

Amidst the sexual allegations, Cosby is due for another show on Jan. 16 at the Memorial Hall in Pueblo, Colorado.
