Angela and Grace Ramey

A Minnesota woman made a half-court basketball shot of a lifetime when the ex-player substituted for her daughter after she raised the most money in a school fundraiser for a national charity that fights hunger throughout the world. The Mom and daughter team made a total three shots to win a 50 percent discount off the daughter's tuition.  After each family member tossed up an air ball, the Minnesota mother made a "granny shot" that seemed it would miss the basketball rim by a long distance.

The Bethany Academy school had made over 41,000 packed meals in five hours for the Kids Against Hunger non-profit organization. However, it was the family team of Angela Ramey and her daughter Grace that raised the most money for the charity, according to Bleacher Report.

Grace did not have any basketball experience, but her mother had played the sport during 5th and 6th grade. Due to that fact, the daughter asked her mother to fill in for her.

Angela heaved up a granny shot that is a shooting style starting at the feet rather than over the head. The bounce shot was far short of the iron rim.

Then nine-year-old Grace fired away. Her shot also bounced off the floor, but landed under the basketball backboard.

Angela stepped up to make the last shot for the $4,000 free tuition. Her shot bounced off the hardwood floor, but then it miraculously jumped off the rim and then fell through the net. It took a while for her to realize that the shot had gone into the bucket, because she thought it was a failed attempt after the ball bounced.

Ramey told Good Morning America (GMA) that she lined up the shot and said a quick prayer before taking the shot, according to ABC News.

The Minnesota Mom appeared on GMA to make another shot, and the TV network promised it would donate funds to a children's hunger charity whether or not the round ball dropped through the nylon net. She sank the shot.
