It looks like the authorities are going after Hydra as the registrars suspend the domain names of The Pirate Bay. .LA, .VG, .MN and .GD are shutdown by their respective registrars. The Pirate Bay is only accessible through .SE domain.
The Pirate Bay decided to come up with six new domain names for the torrent website after a court ordered the website to hand over .SE domain to the state.
TorrentFreak noted that the other domain names also known as Hydra were suspended by the registrars. ThePirateBay.gd, ThePirateBay.la, ThePirateBay.vg and The PirateBay.mn were listed by the registry as clienthold. Moreover, other Pirate Bay domains like .SH, .FM, .TW and .MU are also listed as clienthold.
The Pirate Bay is inaccessible with these domain extensions. The domain names are registered to Fredrik Neij, co-founder of The Pirate Bay and they are associated to the same service.
The torrent website is currently not working for users. However, TF noted that The Pirate Bay can be accessed using the .SE domain and the .org domain.
The registrar that has suspended the domains is Idotz.net. It is a Hexonet/1api reseller based out of the U.S. Idotz has not made any comments about the suspension of the domain names.
Meanwhile, The Pirate Bay is yet to make a statement about the recent developments. It has to be seen if The Pirate Bay would reveal new domain names for the users. Stay tuned for more updates on TPB. Share your views and thoughts in the section below.
