"Dr. Ken" star Ken Jeong recently talked about his new ABC show, his acting career and his wife

In an interview with The New York Time, the 46-year-old Korean national revealed that he wants to veer away from storylines that are solely focused on being Asian-American.

More specifically, the actor said that there's one episode from the hit ABC sitcom that showed Dave (Albert Tsai) getting injured.

According to him, he made it a point to not include any Asian jokes on the show to poke fun on Tsai's character.

Meanwhile, Jeong also revealed this his wife Tran is actually a funnywoman herself.

The actor said that his wife is actually the wittier one, but he's the one who has a more impressive resume because of his acting career and medical background.

Before getting into the TV and movie industry, Jeong was a practicing doctor for seven years.

When asked how medicine and acting may be related to each other, the actor said that in some ways medicine is also about improvisation.

"Medicine is listening, and so is improv; going with the flow, going through trial and error," he said.

In other news, Jeong also gushed over the success of his new ABC show during an interview on "Good Morning America."

According to him, he's grateful for the opportunities he was given as an actor. Now that he has his own show on TV, Jeong said that he feels even more grateful that fans have accepted him ever since they first saw him on "The Hangover."
