The first half of 2016 is all set to witness the launch of Samsung Galaxy S7 and Xiaomi Mi5. Both smart phones are likely to touch markets in close heels of each other. Tech Times has slotted release dates for Xiaomi Mi5 at January 2016 and for Samsung Galaxy S7 between March-April 2016.
Xiaomi Mi5 is rumored to sport a 5.2 inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It may also adopt a 3D touch technology with pressure sensitive display. Samsung Galaxy S7, on the other hand, will be releasing two variants - flat screened version shall bear a 5.2 inch display screen and for the curved screen one shall have a 5.7 inch display. Both variants shall sport a new Clear Touch pressure sensitive technology.
Both phones are rumored to be equipped with Snapdragon processors, most likely Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. According to PC Tech Magazine, Xiaomi Mi5 shall additionally have an Adreno 530 GPU. Samsung Galaxy S7 will power its devices in the U.S. and China with the Snapdragon chipset, and those in Korea, Japan, Europe with its in-house 64-bit octa-core Exynos 8890 SoC .
If rumors are to be believed, Samsung Galaxy S7 shall have a 23 MP primary camera with a new IMX300 sensor developed by Sony, which received high ratings from all review websites. Xiaomi Mi5 shall have a 16 MP primary and enhanced 8 MP front camera.
IB Times reported that Samsung Galaxy S7 is likely to have a battery of 2550 mAH whereas Xiaomi Mi5 may sport a 3,303 mAH battery.
Both phones are eagerly awaited in the market and are expected to leg-up their predecessors.
